What people are saying about Responsible Business Week

Responsible Business Week is an opportunity for businesses to show how they are driving positive social, environmental and economic change in communities across the UK. Read how two businesses benefited from hosting RB Week events.

Business in the Community’s Responsible Business Week showcases the work businesses are doing to drive positive social, environmental and economic change in communities across the UK. Businesses can use the platform the Week creates to raise awareness and inspire others with real stories that illustrate what being a responsible business means.

During Responsible Business Week 2017, PwC launched its Responsible Technology Approach, a series of commitments both to showcase the positive role of technology and to mitigate social, ethical and environmental concerns, across its whole value chain.

“Launching our Responsible Technology Approach during BITC's Responsible Business Week was a great opportunity to raise awareness of our approach, with all PwC’s stakeholders - internal and external, " said Bridget Jackson, Director of Corporate Sustainability at PwC.

IBM also got involved with Responsible Business Week 2017 by hosting two events, one of which shared the progress that charity Stop the Traffik, in partnership with IBM, has made since the launch of the STOP APP, which lets people securely and discreetly report possible trafficking.

“By hosting these events during Responsible Business Week, we were able to convene together, share information and amplify the importance of supporting organisations such as Stop the Traffik,” said Mark Wakefield, Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs Manager, IBM.

Throughout Responsible Business Week 2018 (23rd-27th April), events will be held across the UK to champion, celebrate, show and share how businesses can address local and global challenges from improving child health and wellbeing in a single London borough to demonstrating how businesses, communities and the economy can benefit from tackling environmental challenges. There is the opportunity to learn from other businesses and share the steps your organisation is taking to be more responsible.
