Responsible Business practice underpins Gavin’s whole approach to his role in Fujitsu. He believes a comprehensive approach to Responsible Business is not 'a nice to have’; it's a business fundamental for delivering sustainable growth and profits.

'Winning the right way' drives what Gavin calls his ‘AND’ Game; “focusing Fujitsu’s strategy and attention on Customers AND People AND Results AND Responsible Business”.  Gavin doesn’t believe in big one-off projects or showcase campaigns, rather that being truly responsible is only possible when its embedded in the DNA of the company and evidenced in the way colleagues work every day.  This approach has now been extended across over 40 countries across EMEIA and throughout US, Canada and South America.

Gavin joined Fujitsu in 2009. He works across the Executive team to ensure financial results are achieved, the best people are found, retained and developed and Fujitsu grows.

His career started at the age of sixteen as an Apprentice and this goes some way to explaining his strong support to building the careers of young people today. He is a dedicated advocate of BITC’s Future Leaders approach, championed the Future Leaders Summit and is driving a new initiative in the UK called ‘The Lens’.

He has been at the heart of Fujitsu’s commitment to BITC’s Business Connector programme. Personally interviewing all the Business Connectors seconded by Fujitsu, and overseeing Fujitsu's pro bono work on the bitcconnect website that allows measurement of Business Connector activity. Gavin has recently completed a two year tenure as The Prince's Ambassador for Responsible Business in London. He is also a member of the International Leadership Team.

Previously, Gavin has spent over 30 years in the technology and aviation sectors, accumulating experience in leading the sales, design, build and implementation of numerous infrastructure and technology businesses and projects.  He has worked in over 30 countries, advising foreign governments on legal and regulatory compliance and on institutional change, as well as delivering transformational technology services and solutions to private sector companies.
